Raven Rock State Park

Raven Rock is a hidden gem on the banks of the Cape Fear River. Despite being in a relatively flat area of the state, the “Raven Rock” rises to about 150ft up and offers some impressive views of the river and distant lands.

There are really nice hiking trails at the park that head up and under raven rock, to the fish traps or along the creek to Lanier Falls (which I did not visit). The trails are clearly marked and feature nicely made steps.

The visitors center is fairly new at the park. All the facilities feel very up to date.
